The German Working Group Palaeopedology (AGPP) was founded at 16. May 1977 in Hannover being the first working group of the Soils Science Society of Germany. Our agenda is

• Interdisciplinary development of paleodeology as a special discipline in soil science and geosciences and support of cooperation and exchange of information, development of specific analyses and definition of palaeopedological terms.
• Encouragement of interdisciplinary und regional palaeopedological research
• Information and discussion of palaeopedological research
• Introduction of young soil scientists to palaeopedological research questions

Meetings are annually at different places in Middle Europe. The working group meets also during the biannual conference of the German Soil Science Society
